Your Biggest Regret? [5 From Peoples Death Beds]

Flash forward 60 years; or at the end of your life.

Naturally, we have things we want to accomplish and it’s natural to have goals to achieve.

This is why it's so easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of it all and as time goes on it helps to remind ourselves of what truly matters.

Now, I am not one to suggest you live your life based on regretting regrets that have not happened but it's important to keep things in check.

Here are 5 regrets of people on their death bed from relayed from a nurse who worked with many patients in their last moments:

  1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
  2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.
  3. I wish I had the courage to express my feelings.
  4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
  5. I wish I had let myself be happier.

Which ones above stand out to you?

When you look at other people's lives they are either a lesson or a warning.

There are three ways you can learn.

The easy way - from other people's examples.

The hard way - from your own experience and failures.

The tragic way - you never learn and make the same mistakes over and over.

I say choose to live the easy way and take those 5 lessons as a reminder to finish each day with a significant amount of reflection against each one.

You will feel better about your life every day this way.
