More than just a buzzword the fire of entrepreneurship is burning hot.
A few years ago if you said you were an entrepreneur - people thought you were poor or unemployed!
Entrepreneurship serves as a vehicle for people to realize their dreams through building an idea out of nothing and into something people value and pay money for.
Then by using the money earned to diversify into other businesses, ventures, or helping finance someone else's dream in the form of investing.
In the USA it's almost the only choice for people due to the horribly low wages and disproportionate wealth gap alongside outrageous college fee's which promise no real career prospects and ultimately trap people in a cycle of debt.
That pattern is seen all across wealthy nations.
Following a standard, cookie-cutter model of going to school, going to university, and going to get a job for "life" - which never happens, until you retire barely living on enough money.
The allure to entrepreneurship is the freedom to be your own boss and the empowerment from striving towards building something you committed to. For some, this will be a big equity business for other's it will mean a lifestyle business.
The reality of being an entrepreneur is nothing like the magazine covers, Instagram photos and tv series you see.
You've got to be all in, every single day. The grind is very real, the financial pay off is virtually nothing at the start and maybe for several years.
Everyone will think you are bat-shit crazy for doing it because often you cannot show or prove to anyone what you're doing is working, even though you can see it.
If you're not risking capital you are risking opportunity cost which means other opportunities you're saying no to, so you can follow what you're building now.
There is never a guaranteed pay off. At least with a job you get paid, even though it sucks and even though it is regular you never really have the time you want to do what you want.
With all that said...there is nothing better.
To be a successful entrepreneur you've got to move away from the money game into the entrepreneur game.
Money may be a scorecard but it's not the game.
The game is winning AND losing.
The fear and the elation when something works.
Not really ever knowing it will work and then it does.
If you reframe your mind to see it as a real-life game that you go all in on with your time, money, and energy it takes a life of its own.
The fun and exhilaration will fuel you like never before!
When you shift from thinking winning is everything to winning is great but so is losing because it's where you learn the most - you've ultimately won and no one, I mean no one will be able to touch you if you stay in the game for life.
