Brian Tracy is known for his book "Eat That Frog." The saying means if you wake up each day and the first thing you do is eat a frog; well that is the worst or hardest thing that will happen and by contrast, your day will be great.
You've got to ask yourself, what is the "frog" you're procrastinating on and then each morning EAT that bit of work as the first task.
There's also another question that when answered helps to alleviate the pain associated with managing the multiple tasks we encounter each and every day.
The question: How do you eat an elephant?
The Answer: One bite at a time.
The key to getting a lot done is to break it into the smallest bite-sized pieces and each day to start with the one that's hardest.
If you get overwhelmed by the sheer volume of a project by breaking it into the smallest executable pieces, well, by contrast, it's far easier to bite your way through.
When Michelangelo was asked about the rejected marble that he used to carve the famous Michelangel's David he said: "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free."
You've got to have a vision for the work you are doing and see it as a masterpiece already carved out.
Bit by bit as you chip away the marble you will uncover your Michelangelo's David.
